Does Kombucha have benefits? Kombucha is usually a drink, traditionally made with tea leaves, sugar, and culture of bacteria and yeast. Some people report it to be an acquired taste. One reason offered for the benefits of kombucha can be the probiotic bacteria which it is made from. Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that can help the human body digest food, produce vitamins, or destroy disease-causing cells. However, research has been done on probiotics, but scientific information regarding its use as a dietary supplement.
