Benjamin Franklin famously advised a fire-threatened Philadelphia in 1736 that “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” This is a quote which is means it is better and easier to stop a problem, which can be anywhere from a fire to illnesses, bad health habits, ect., from happening with early interventions than it is correct or fix issues it after it has begun to cause issues.
