The Great American Smokeout- Day 11

Tobacco products are marketing the addictive chemical known as nicotine. Nicotine use is a relatively social accepted drug which only in relatively recently has slowly been identified as harmful and less accepted. In the 1980s and 90s, state and local governments responded by creating campaigns identifying the health effects as well as banning smoking in workplaces, restaurants, raising taxes on cigarettes, limiting cigarette promotions, discouraging teen cigarette use, and more. These efforts continue today.
